Beyond Paper. Beyond Words.
That’s the theme of the National Stationery Show
in New York. Well, Rock Paper Scissors was there, and despite
the theme, we’re going to tell you all about it.
Aisles and aisles of pens, paper, wrap, cards, gadgets,
tools, organizers, wedding invitations, baby announcements,
journals, calendars and more from all over the world confirmed
it – you’re lucky to have Amy and Kathryn from
Rock Paper Scissors tastefully editing the choices for
you. That said, we did add a dozen fine new select friends
to our collection. Very soon you’ll find
delightful goods from Carrot & Stick
Press,
Life’s
Lemons,
Joy
by Mel Lim,
Mr.
Boddington’s
Studio, Polite,
PSA
Essentials (finally!
embossers), Roanoke
Valley Printworks,
Spruce Avenue,
Story Of,
Tak Brands,
Trace
Paper and Art Design and
WhoMi.
What makes us stop at a booth and spend time and money?
Integrity and consistency of design, a sense of humor,
wonderful use of color, amazing paper, attention to detail
and, of course, friendly and interesting people to work
with because life is just too short.
After lunch breaks at the glorious food court of the Jacob
Javits Center (cheeseburgers, onion rings and bring on
the condiments) we also ordered brand new designs from
some of our (and your!) all-time favorites such as Herman
Yu, Pancake & Franks,
Hammerpress,
9SpotMonk, Binth,
Snow & Graham,
Egg
Press, You
Send Me,
elum, Russell
Sloane,
Peculiar
Pair Press and Jack
and Lulu.
We were happy to find that lots of the artists and representatives
we spoke with at the show had seen our website and love
it (so do we). All in all, we were thrilled to find so
many beautiful and clever things to bring back home to
you. (Yes, our feet are recovering, thanks for asking.)
Please come visit us and check them out – the goods,
not our feet.
